CHAILD @ IDC 2026

We are very pleased to share a few papers/posters that we presented at IDC 2026.
On the first day, Zelda Yanovich and Jun present at the brilliantly chaired workshop Designing ethical and rights-respecting child-centred AI for learning. In addition to an amazing programme, the second half of the workshop also includes some productive work on identifying open challenges in designing for children’s rights. Look out for a fresh manifesto to be shared from the team led by the amazing Dr Ayça Atabey and Dr Kim Sylwander.
Vid also presented at the workshops of C3AI: Where Do Trust, Design, and Evaluation Meet in Child–AI Interaction?
On the second day, Isobel Voysey and Trisha-mae Capistrano presented their WiP Design for the in-between moments for parents and their under 5s.
On the third day, Isobel presented our full paper on Agency in Child–AI Interaction: A Review of How It Is Conceptualised, Studied, and Supported in HCI, c/o: Vidminas Vizgirda, Sarah Turner, Leslye Dias Duran, Zaki Pauzi, Manolis Mavrikis & Carina Prunkl.
This timely paper highlights the need for agency conceptualisation clarity and the need to consider relational agency in child-centred designs. See our earlier blog post.
